One day in the middle of nowhere

Hi again 😀 jajaja! I am electronics engineer and I work for a startup company in the marine area. At the moment, I spend my time at the research and development department. We are a very small group of engineers trying to build an echosounder product to compete with other brands globally. In February, I embarked on a ship to test the new equipment. So, we had to travel 20 nautical miles from the coast of Mar del Plata. At the distance you couldn’t see the city, we were literally in the middle of nowhere. The voyage took approximately 2 hours. One doesn’t perceive it, but the ships move very slowly! It was a new and strange experience because I never sail and stay on a ship for a long time. My stomach wasn’t very happy at the beginning of the day and I had to throw up a couple of times. The same thing happened to my colleagues. Wild nature

I really love this photo. I took this photo in Costa Rica, in a beautiful beach close to Tamarindo when I was on holidays. It was a special moment; I went to desolate beach. I had to pass a small river, where there was a warning sign: “danger crocodiles!”.  I love adventure, so I pass anyway. When I arrived, there was a lot of silence, so I threw myself on the sand to sunbathe. At one point I raised my head and saw a giant tortoise. She was about to be mother! I could not believe what I was seeing. I started to get closer and she decided to leave, was moving quite slowly. She had a scary mouth, so I didn’t want to put a finger there. It was difficult for her to breathe or maybe it was because she had contractions. So, as a good annoying tourist, I dedicated to taking this photo of her. I stayed a while longer until sunset and when I wanted to go back the river had grown so, I had to swim. I don’t know if I was lucky, but there was a case of a crocodile attack last week. I k...

My best friend

Hi everybody! Well here is my first post. I'm going to talk about a friend of mine. My best friend is Mauro. He is 1 year younger than me. We first met at high school, and in a short time we started to chat more. I knew about him, because my brother is his brother’s friend. But until that moment we didn’t know each other. He is a very funny person and we can talk about anything. We have deep conversations and always support each other.  We meet with frequency, maybe 1 or 2 days per week, and there are other friends with us. We usually go for a ride, or we meet to drink beers in a bar or in a house. He is a calm person, similar to me, so we understand each other very well. He is a big fan of River Plate, and he loves to play football. Before the pandemic we used to play soccer every Friday. We are in abstinence from football. We travelled together a couple of times in the coast of Buenos Aires on holidays or long weekends. Sometimes, we talk about travelling abroad, but I know that ...

This is a space to share any English-related production any of you create, as well as a kind of 'virtual coffeehouse' where you can chat about English and make any questions you might have.
